I have to been Emily's many times, and I glad this was not my first because I may not return. We went on a Sunday early afternoon and made reservations for indoor seating. When we arrived we were told our table was outside, I mentioned our reservation was inside and was told we would need to wait 10 minutes even though more than half the indoor tables were empty, so we sat outside. Service was not good. We waited awhile for someone to come by for our drink order. We than waited and waited. We ordered the baked ricotta dip, burger and the Emily pizza. The baked ricotta was excellent. The burger came out and was exactly as I remembered and probably one of the top 3 favorites. The cooking of the burgers cannot be customized, but there is not a need. The burger comes with waffle fries. We than waited for our pizza and drink refills. The pizza had a white sauce and sprinkled with honey. It was very good. The food was excellent , but service was poor.
I went mid afternoon and it was not busy at all on a Monday. The server and hostess were very attentive and our waters were never empty. I got the famous burger and let me tell you it was really good. I loved the bun. It came out warm and melted. Definitely a 9/10 burger. The fries were good. They gave a generous portion of fries.
Table of three ordered the double stack burger, chicken sandwich, and the arenstein pizza. Everything was delicious (but a little heavy as expected), but both chicken and burger had two protein patties which made it very filling. The arenstein pizza was good, however I think the colony pizza may be better because of the tomato sauce making it more light/tart. The arenstein had the same toppings, just a vodka sauce, but their vodka sauce isn't very strong. Service was great and we sat in the downstairs room which was very dark and vibey.
The BEST burger I've ever had in my life and I'm not even a burger person so fat, juicy and flavorful as witnessed in the video. Their vodka pizza- while it was very cheesy which I love, it was also a bit too salty. The first few bites were great, but it was hard to eat after that. My last call out would be their expresso martini which is made with bourbon, and it was definitely one of the more unique expresso Martinis I've had. It also has the addition of chai which was great.
Incredible! I'm a big Deep/thick crust pizza guy but my friend brought me here for the burger. The burger was really good, there was a lot happening with it but it was phenomenal. Lil pricy but it's worth the try! The pizza was good, it wasn't incredible or life changing. The place ran a tight reservation system but we got seats outside. Would definitely come back it was great!
On our first night in NYC we decided to hit up Emily as I heard they make a decent pizza and burger. We called to see if we could reserve a spot but they weren't taking any that day. We decided to do what any rational person would and hop into a cab into the area and hope for the best! When we arrived they put us on the waiting list and said it'd be about 20 minutes. We went for a walk in the neighbourhood and it's pretty nice quiet neighbourhood. There's a lot of restaurants and fast food joints in the area. We decided to walk back in case a table opened up early and sure enough I got a text on my phone. We arrived back to Emily and they got us seated. The place is cozy and we were seated by a group that was definitely celebrating something as they bought out the menu! There wasn't a lot of question about what we wanted. 2 burgers and a pizza...though on this trip they were serving up Detroit pizzas. I think I've seen that they used to serve up NY style pizzas before. Before our meals came I went to the washroom. They're downstairs and it looks like there is a private dining area here so it's much larger than I originally thought. It didn't take long for our burgers to arrive. The burgers looked great but were saucy which I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it. They came waffle fries and in no time I took my first bite. I had to make sure so I took a second bite and yup, that's in my top 10 burgers of all time on this planet. Holy smokes, it tasted like they used multiple kinds of cuts in their ground and the sauce really nice. I slowly savoured that burger until the pizza came. When the pizza arrived I was already pretty full, thankfully I only took 1 bite of the waffle fries. The pizza looked great as well! We all took a slice and bit in. It's definitely a nice pizza but the burger just overshadowed it. I'm not a fan of pineapple on my pizza but this one had the most amount of meat on it so it's why we went with it. The hot honey was alright. I know some people love it but I could have done without. All in all, got a decent slice and a fantastic burger. The staff are super friendly and attentive here. You could do much worse for a first meal in NYC. Additional note, since they changed their pizza up, I'm going to assume the burgers may change up as well.
The best dinn in pizza I've had in ages. The service was prompt. I recommend making preservations but I snuck in at the right time around 4:30 pm before the rush. The restaurant doesn't really have any bad seats in the house but I felt that the basement felt more intimate and private if that is what you prefer. I will definitely be back to try everything on the menu because the food on other peoples table looks absolutely delicious. Their location is far off the beat and path for me so it allows me to leave my daily routine and explore the city that never sleeps.
We came here for lunch on the weekend when they first opened and got seated inside. Our server was friendly and the food was delicious! To drink I had the perfect pear ($15) which was delicious! - Gin, pear puree, lemon and cinnamon. I enjoy this cocktail a lot. To eat our table shared the wings, waffle fries, asian cucumbers and Mimi pizza ($22). We all agreed that we could skip the cucumbers and wings next time. Wings had a slight spicy kick to them but was nothing special. The mimi pizza, however, was really good! We all felt that they initially forgot about our pizza, but when we asked about it, it came out right away and was luke warm. Not cold, but it definitely wasn't fresh out of the oven hot. Either way the pizza was the highlight of the meal. I would definitely come back if visiting NYC. Be sure to make reservations as this place can get packed!
